Apologies for the quality. Camera was my phone under a desk lamp. Will replace with better photos later.

Challenge update

Due to a vacation, and a family emergency, I'm going to give myself permission to take longer to complete this challenge.

Face #3

I only had time for a quick sketch from a photograph of my granddaughter, Molly, which - when I got to this point - I can see both my granddaughters in this. Cool! Simple graphite pencil sketch.

Face #2

Face #2
Charcoal and Derwent Inktense Watercolor pencils
My inner critic is screaming at me about this one, but I'm just going to enjoy the process of every day practice, thank you very much!

Face #1

This was drawn/colored mostly with charcoals; the eyes with Caran d'Ache Neocolor II's (gosh, I just can't say how much I love the neocolors!). The lighting is not great so I'll take the photo of the next face in a different setting.

Caran d'Ache Neocolor II

This was my first drawing with Caran d'Ache Neocolor II crayons. I love them ... smooth as butter, great colors, and when you apply water ... oh my! Yep! Love them!

29 Faces Challenge

Found out about a challenge through Effy Wild, creator of Book of Days (http://bookofdays.org) and inspirer-extraordinaire, called 29 Faces. The challenge is to draw 29 faces in the month of May. There are 31 days in May, and we all know "life happens," so this gives a little leeway in the "one-a-day" concept.

This will be where I will display my attempts at this challenge. Drawing faces is new to me; the whole art world is new to me. I love the idea of practicing every day. I am enjoying my art journey so far, so I'm really looking forward to this. If you would like to join us, please visit http://ilove2paint.blogspot.com.
